Background Notes

'Eliza's Gateau' from Seduction By Chocolate...

Eliza's Gateau was inspired by a trip I took alone to Belgium in 1996, and in many places the story follows the steps I took. There were advantages to traveling alone, but fantasies of meeting a mysterious stranger were never far from my mind. Alas, fantasies they remained.

The heroine of the story is a dietician, and in researching that I picked the brain of a friend who is a nurse, and who works with dieticians at a Catholic hospital here in Portland, Oregon.
