Autumn 2008 News

In writing news, I'm presently at work on two books:

24 Hours as a Sex Vixen, a romantic erotica (and comedy) for Pocket Books. I'll post the release date once I know it.

Girl of Fortune (working title), a young adult novel for Penguin/Puffin. Set at a French boarding school, the story follows the romance and paranormal adventures of an American student as she discovers both her psychic powers and the mysterious heritage that has brought her to France.

I took a trip to France this summer to research the story. We spent ten days in the Perigord Noir region, in the southwest, hiking 7-16 miles a day between villages, and visiting castles along the way. We also ate heaps of duck: duck breast, duck confit, duck rillettes, duck pate, duck gizzard, duck foie gras... Duck duck duck! And goat cheese. Needless to say, I came back with five pounds of duck fat round my middle. Sigh!

We also spent a couple days in the Loire Valley, visiting castles.

In rather more unusual writing news, I'm working on some story treatments for animated movies. A friend I've had since high school now works in animation, and we're trying to fulfill a 20-year dream of my writing, and his producing a film. Stranger things have happened!
